Our Projects

Combined, we have over 50 years experience, gained on a variety of projects throughout the world. But no two engineering projects are alike.

Sometimes we manage a project from the very start and continue to be involved until the end reports. Other times we are brought in to provide specialist services in specific areas. Each brings different challenges. Each has different outcomes.

We would like to share just a few of these projects here.

FT Pipeline Systems - Mitcheldean Pre-Construction Risk Report (631) Project Start Up Consultancy

FT Pipeline Systems

Cheltenham, England
1 Mar 2012 - 1 Apr 2012

QEM Solutions were asked to review the risks associated with the construction of 9Km 610mm Nominal Bore x 6.3mm wall L275 EN 10224 helical seam submerged arc welded epoxy lined pipe.

Using our vast knowledge of pipeline construction, design and risk management experience , we were able to highlight the areas that could potentially be cause for concern during both construction and operation.

The result was a constructability review that focused on safety, technical ability and component integrity.

QEM provide FT Pipeline Systems and their client a comprehensive Risk Assessment which included;

  • A review of all material supplier documentation including quality plans, design drawings, inspection and test regimes / procedures, datasheets and certification against all applicable international industry standards.
  • An analysis of construction welding and coating proposals against industry standards.
  • A verification of design calculations.
  • First stage HAZCON.
  • A review of routing for potential construction issues and unforeseen design flaws that could pose concerns for FT Pipeline Systems Ltd or the main works contractor.

Recommendations for critical material inspections at supplier premises and on receipt of delivery.
