QEM Solutions have been asked to review the risks associated with the construction of 380m 1422.5 x 10mm, L235 EN 10224 helical seam submerged arc welded epoxy lined pipe.
Using our vast knowledge of pipeline construction, design and risk management experience , we were able to highlight the areas that could potentially be cause for concern during both construction and operation.
The result was a constructability review that focused on safety, technical ability and component integrity.
QEM provide FT Pipeline Systems and their client a comprehensive Risk Assessment which included;

A review of all material supplier documentation including quality plans, design drawings, inspection and test regimes / procedures, datasheets and certification against all applicable international industry standards.

An analysis of construction welding and coating proposals against industry standards.

A verification of design calculations, including pipe ovality checks and bending stress calculations, etc.

First stage HAZCON.

A review of routing for potential construction issues and unforeseen design flaws that could pose concerns for FT Pipeline Systems Ltd or the main works contractor.

Recommendations for critical material inspections at supplier premises and on receipt of delivery.
