Formal Process Safety Assessments

QEM Solutions have over 10 years experience in assisting the construction industry with formal process safety assessments.

Unfotunately, all too often these assessments are time consuming and treated as a paperwork exercise, without providing any real benefit or value.

QEM Solutions have worked hard to ensure that our workshops are different form the norm. This ensures efficiency, action planning, participation and a focus on real risks. We have been reliably told that this is a refreshing change to the usual FPSA arrangement.

QEM offer the FPSA chairman roles on a fixed price or reimbursable rate to suit the contractors / clients' needs.

When completing any work to the National Transmission System (NTS) it is a requirement to carry out a Formal Process Safety Assessment (HAZID, HAZOP, SWDS, HAZCON and HAZDEM as required) on the planned works. QEM has various senior engineers qualified to carry out FPSAs on behalf of NGN, NG, SGN and Cadent. Our workshops uses ‘guidewords’ to trigger conversations about the effects of the works and how it will impact the project and the team that are carrying out the work.

The meeting aims to identify and mitigate hazards in the design, construction, and operation of the work. All topics are covered and any actions are taken away to be completed, to be agreed by the group before the study can be concluded.

We feel we deliver our workshops differently to ensure efficiency, action participation and focusing on real risks which could be encountered and have received refreshing feedback from our client to date on the approach we have taken.
